Rosalee

Form drawing on museum board

Sold

An original 4" x 6" traditional form drawing done on archival museum board. It is mounted under non-reflective museum glass with a double archival mat and a custom 13" x 15" handcrafted frame in either natural cherry or a black stained cherry.

I met Rosalee on the Intracoastal Waterway on my way to the Bahamas on a 34 ft. sloop. She was the embodiment of true grit as her livelihood came from her efforts working on the water. I finally found the time and the inspiration to do this drawing of her with the hope of capturing her spirit. It is done with graphite that has been modified with India ink and white egg tempera on a paper that has been toned with dry pigment and a hide glue. Fair winds and a following sea Rosalee!
