Backwater II

After passing by this inconspicuous area on the Assateague Island National Seashore in Virginia a countless number of times over the years, I had the inspiration to attempt a painting. After a series of sketches and informational photographs the process began and the painting of "Backwater" emerged.
An original 4" x 6" drybrush gouache painting done on archival museum board. It is mounted under non-reflective museum glass with a double archival mat and a custom 13" x 15" handcrafted frame in either natural cherry or a black stained cherry.
